THE KENNEDY FAMILY

Anything written about the Kennedy family is almost assured of becoming a best seller.  People have not lost their fascination with the Kennedys and are eager to read about them.  There are two new books recently released about this famous family.

"A common struggle : a personal journey through the past and future of mental illness and addiction" by Patrick J. Kennedy and Stephen Fried

Former Congressman and Ted Kennedy's son writes about his struggles with addiction and bi-polar disorder.  He also discusses what needs to be done in the US to help people and their families.

"Rosemary : the hidden Kennedy daughter" by Kate Clifford Larson.

The beautiful daughter of the powerful and prominent Kennedy had the best of everything, but something wasn't quite like the other Kennedy daughters.  She was considered "intellectually disabled."  As she got older the Kennedy family was not comfortable having her seen in public. She was institutionalized and had a lobotomy and basically hidden away the remainder of her life.
