UPDATED OVERDRIVE APP
Guess What? Updated version of OverDrive app now available
| |||||||||||||
OverDrive recently launched a new version of its app for Android, iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch) and Windows 8 devices.
The updated app eliminates the need to setup Adobe authorization during installation, which will reduce library support questions and help users who like to sync their downloads across multiple devices.
First-time users are prompted to create an OverDrive account. Existing users will see no change when they update to the newest app version. | |||||||||||||
Additional updated features include:
· Updated OverDrive Help articles and videos.
· Users under the age of 13 can anonymously authorize the OverDrive app without creating an OverDrive account.
· The app’s name is simplified with the words Media Console removed.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS
|
Saul Alexander Gallery call for submissions
The Saul Alexander Foundation Gallery at CCPL’s Main Library provides space for juried art exhibitions from individuals or groups. Preference is given to works reflecting experiences and viewpoints of South Carolina residents.
Artists interesting in displaying their work during 2015 should complete and submit an application by September 30. A Gallery Committee composed of local art professionals select artists and craftsman for one-month exhibition periods. Decisions are based solely on the quality of the work submitted. Submission guidelines: In addition to the application, artists must submit a current resume plus photographs or digital examples of eight-12 pieces of their work. The examples must represent the style and type of work intended for display. Each example should be labeled with the artist’s name, the title of the artwork, the medium used and the size. The work should not have been previously exhibited at the library. Preference is given to newly created works. Artists must be at least 18 years old.
Once the Gallery Committee makes its selections, the chosen artists will be contacted and notified of when their items will be displayed. The library’s executive director has final approval for all exhibits.
How to apply:
Submissions to exhibit will be accepted through September 30, 2014. The works of each selected artist or group will be exhibited for one month beginning in February of 2015. Applications, which must be included with an artist's submission, can be downloaded online, picked up at the Main Library's Reference Department or received by calling 843-805-6949.
