Holiday Book Suggestions

It's the most wonderful time of the year to read books set during the holiday season. I know for me reading a fun holiday book helps me get into the festive holiday mood.  Below are some holiday book suggestions.  Do you have any books set during the holiday season you would suggest? “Holmes for the Holidays,”edited by Martin H. Greenberg, Jon L. Lellenberg, and Carol-Lynn Waugh.  This anthology from 1996 contains fourteen original stories featuring Sherlock and Watson, written by top mystery writers. 


“My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories,” edited by Stephanie Perkins, is a holiday anthology comprised of short stories written by twelve bestselling young adult authors, including Perkins. Whether you enjoy celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, or New Year’s, there is a story for everyone in this anthology.


“Oliver the Cat Who Saved Christmas” by Sheila Norton is an uplifting story similar to “A Street Cat Named Bob.” It tells the story of Oliver the cat who is left homeless after a pub kitchen fire. Alone and afraid, he learns to trust again through the kindness of humans around him. When he meets a little girl in need of a friend, Oliver realizes the town needs a Christmas miracle.


“Pretty Paper: A Christmas Tale” by Willie Nelson is an uplifting Christmas story, based on his classic holiday song “Pretty Paper.”



“The Man Who Invented Christmas: How Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol Rescued His Career and Revived Our Holiday Spirits,” by Les Standiford tells the story of how “A Christmas Carol” revitalized Dickens’s career and revived Christmas spirit.
