The Holidays on Hoopla

If you love to pop some popcorn and watch holiday movies, check out some of these holiday-themed movies available through hoopla, a digital service that will allow for streaming or downloading of movies:

“Holiday Inn” (1942) starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire in a musical comedy where Crosby leaves show business to run an inn open only on the holidays. Both Crosby and Astaire find themselves competing for the affections of the same lady, played by Marjorie Reynolds.

“Nothing Like the Holidays” (2008) starring John Leguizamo and Debra Messing in a movie about a family getting together at Christmastime to celebrate not only Christmas but the youngest brother’s safe return from combat overseas. While the family may not always get along, they come together when they learn of a family member’s crisis.

“Saving Santa” (2013) starring the voices of Martin Freeman and Ashley Tisdale in a family holiday adventure about a lowly stable elf stopping the invasion of Santa’s Kingdom. The only solution is to travel back in time to rescue the North Pole. Can this once clumsy elf gather the courage to blast back in time to rescue the North Pole?
“Marry Me for Christmas” (2015) starring Malinda Williams and Brad James in a romantic comedy set during the holidays. Marci, a single ad agency owner, is going home for Christmas pretending to be engaged to one of her employees in order to appease her family.

Also on hoopla are Hallmark Christmas movies such as “The Christmas Card” (2006) and “A Christmas Wish” (2010). Most of these titles are also held by the library in DVD form, and you can find many more to enjoy.
